In this Studio 10 interview, Tim shares how a near-fatal motorcycle accident led to the creation of his award-winning documentary and photograph, Distressed. After being told he might never walk again, Tim used the ocean as a sanctuary for his recovery, finding peace in the water while struggling with the trauma and physical pain of his injuries. His striking artwork captures this juxtaposition by featuring a flare amidst the dawn waves, a shot that required him to be physically dragged through the surf due to his limited mobility. What began as a personal healing project eventually gained international acclaim, earning 11 nominations and seven awards.
