Images with purpose.
Countless studies around the world research whats going on in our minds. The areas of great interest to us are the ones involving environment, specifically those involving the ocean and colours displayed in the sky from the sun during dawn, and how they effect and influence human behaviour.
How does this translate into our images? At a specific time of day, in specific locations, we capture the all empowering energy of the sunrise breaking through the atmosphere and bouncing off the water’s surface.
We utilise the influencing factors such as biophilic properties, colour phycology, blue space theory and salt water therapy in creating our images in order to evoke specific emotions that drive specific behaviours, especially during the early periods of trauma recovery but also in calming workplace environments.
Below are the 4 major areas in which greatly influenced the creation of Printforprint.co
There’s a few sections of the colour wheel that evokes feelings of happiness, optimism and energy. It’s in this area of colour that I mostly play with in my photography, delivering deep reds, oranges, blues and yellows from the sun as it breaks through our atmosphere each morning.
The Guardian published an article in Nov 2019 called Blue spaces: why time spent near water is the secret of happiness reporting from a study of 20,000 strong participants that “Coastal environments have been shown to improve our health, body and mind”.
Biophilia is the theory which suggests that humans possess an innate connection with nature and other forms of life. An although the easiest way to depict this is through an image of greenery (tree’s etc) water plays a major part in this connection.
There’s an energy from the ocean that is very unique, and if you have ever experienced diving through or surfing on a wave or simply floating in the ocean, you will know how powerful it can be to the mind, body and soul.
